Our History

Poverty Alleviation Network Kenya (PANET Kenya) story dates back to 6th June 2010 with the registration of a CBO named Community Poverty Alleviation Network. The network was aimed at bringing together development partners within Tharaka-Nithi with the sole objective of alleviating poverty related suffering of the local communities. Among the most notable achievements was the successful funding of Matakiri CBO by UNFAO and Tharaka Poultry SHG by the USA Embassy in Kenya. Building on these successes, PANET Kenya was formed in order to reach more vulnerable communities. Currently enjoying a membership of 34 SHGs PANET Kenya is on an expansion path to reach the disadvantaged in Nairobi, Kajiado, Tharaka-Nithi, Machakos and Makueni Counties.
